How to Find AWS CloudTrail access logging is disabled on the S3 bucket
Problem​
Server access logs can assist you in security and access audits, help you learn about your customer base, and understand your Amazon S3 bill.
This security check is part of the CIS Amazon Web Services Benchmarks and is rated severity medium.
Prerequisites​
This guide assumes that you have already installed and configured Resoto to collect your AWS cloud resources.
Directions​
Execute the following
search
command in Resoto Shell or Resoto UI:> search is(aws_cloud_trail) --> is(aws_s3_bucket) and bucket_logging.target_bucket==null

resources.Fix detected issues by following the remediation steps:
Ensure that S3 buckets have Logging enabled. CloudTrail data events can be used in place of S3 bucket logging. If that is the case, this finding can be considered a false positive.
